Materials and Printing methods

Our standard printing is one of the most commonly used print throughout the clothing industry for care labels. This is a single colour print, where one colour is printed for all printing. There is no shading or gradients, just one solid colour - similar to the result of an ink stamp. Your artwork must have solid black in the areas to be printed and white or transparent where the material is left unprinted. For a silver on black label, you will effectively have your artwork inversed: black on white.

The resin wash ink lasts 80-100 washes on average depending on individual garment, wear and wash factors.

We stock black, blue (similar to Pantone 279 C), matte silver and gold foil ink rolls which can be printed individually on labels.  The label passes through the printer once, with one ink roll installed, so multi colour printing is not an option.
NB: silver on white or black on black produces a low contrast result and is difficult to read therefore some of these combinations are not offered.

Not recommended for outdoor items exposed to constant UV light, horse-gear or labelling where high abrasion resistance is needed. Avoid placement of labels next to or close to velcro.

Woven labels made by weaving coloured threads on an industrial loom by our partners offshore. Maximum of 8 colours per label including background colour.

Best choice for anything where durability is required. Outdoor items, furniture squabs, dog clothing/accessories, horse-gear or labelling where more wear resistance is needed. Avoid placement of labels next to or close to velcro.

✱ Prints clearly although there is texture. Not as clear/crisp as satin or soft twill, but much clearer/more crisp print than polyester/cotton blend.

✱ Natural yellowish/creamy calico colour material - this is slightly more yellowish than the lightweight cotton/polyester blend and it is thicker

✱ Slightly textured making this less suitable for very fine text or designs

✱ We recommend you design these to have the white background left unprinted

✱ Can be hot cut however due to the cotton content the cut ends will appear slightly burned/brownish

✱ Available widths: 35mm only

✱ Non-absorbent material makes this suitable for swimwear

✱ Semi-transparent colour means it is not visible through sheer or semi-sheer swimwear
